The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) is a global conservation organization whose mission is to preserve nature, wildlife, and natural resources for future generations. The organization has been in place for over 50 years and was originally founded in Switzerland as a way to help raise financial support for other conservation groups. Since its inception in 1961, the WWF has grown and now has a presence in over 100 countries, with at least 5 million members. WWF is constantly working with new concerns and initiatives, one of which is Help Save the Monarch Butterfly.
The campaign is aimed at volunteers who are able to grow plants that Monarch Butterflies need to survive, as well as advocate the cause to their local legislators. Joining the “Monarch Squad” also means that participants receive updates on the insect’s migration patterns and relevant news. For more information on the Monarch Butterfly’s decline and ways you can help, visit worldwildlife.org.
